Marketplace listings that get found

Category, hook, workflow screenshot, setup time. You are writing for a buyer who already lives in that platform.

Written lesson. Do the exercises in order. Put the artifact in your hiring packet.

A listing is not a press release. It is a search result inside someone else’s product. Write it for the person already logged in.

Category is a bet

Pick the category a buyer would search, not the one that flatters you. One category, not five. Wrong category is the most expensive silent failure on a marketplace.

The hook

One line that names the job: “Sync approved assets from Bynder to your Shopify catalog.” Not “AI-powered synergy for modern teams.” The buyer is trying to leave the page or install. Help them.

Proof

A screenshot of the actual workflow, not a marketing site. A setup time. A support email that a human reads. Reviews from people who used it, which you only get after you ask customers who already run the pairing.

Ranking is mostly behavior

Installs, uninstalled-fast, ratings, completeness. You cannot keyword-stuff your way around a connector that breaks. Fix the setup. Then ask the customers who requested the build to install from the listing so the ranking can start.

Keep it dated

When the product changes, the listing is part of the release. A stale screenshot is how you get one-star reviews that are really documentation bugs.

Use the directory to read how the platform wants listings written. Then obey their template. Fighting the template is vanity.
