How to write a partner manager CV when you have not had the title

Cases, not slogans. One shipped workflow beats a page of ‘passionate about ecosystems.’

Written lesson. Do the exercises in order. Put the artifact in your hiring packet.

Hiring managers for this seat have read a thousand CVs that say “relationship builder.” They have not read enough that say “I shipped X, Y customers use it, Z was the motion.”

The unit of proof

One case per relevant role, written as: the situation, what you owned, what shipped, the number (or an honest zero with a leading indicator). Keep it to four lines. If you have never held the title, pick a pairing from a product you use or a project you drove at work: a marketplace listing, a customer intro that became a scope, a QBR you ran without the title.

What to cut

“Excelled in a fast-paced environment.” Tools as a personality. A list of every conference. Soft skills as a heading. Anyone can claim them. Nobody can fake a listing URL.

Titles

If your company called you “customer success” and you ran the integration book, say that in the bullet, not only in the title. Recruiters search titles. Humans read bullets. Put both signals in.

LinkedIn

Same cases, shorter. A pinned one-pager or a public write-up of a ship is better than “open to partnerships roles.” Follow the partner managers at companies you want, comment on the work, not on their holiday photos.

The packet, again

CV gets you the screen. The packet (one-pager, scored list, a no, a ship) gets you the job. Do not wait for the take-home. Bring it.
